CE #411 Senior Project Manager/ Roadway Design

POSITION OVERVIEW-

Our Client looking for a Senior Project Manager with the experience and capacity to help lead, build, strengthen, and grow their current Transportation, Roadway, and Traffic Design teams. The right candidate will work within Colorado and our Southwest region in the execution of a business plan, pursuits, projects, mentorship and oversight of the existing team of engineers based in Denver. Business development and leadership/project management focus will be on CDOT, City and County of Denver, and other greater Denver local agencies. This role will integrate directly into the companies transportation team in the region in an entrepreneurial and collaborative atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Management
  • Assist with leadership, management, and future direction of an established and talented group
  • Provide project leadership and oversight to local/regional teams for project delivery
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of state-of-the-art practices in highway/transportation design
  • Provide day to day mentorship and leadership for team members
  • Project Leadership
  • Successfully execute and lead teams on multi-disciplinary projects
  • Manage the design of transit, roadway, highway, bridge, and interchange projects to meet local, state, and federal requirements
  • Perform Program Management, QA and related activities for the management and execution of ongoing design projects
  • Engineering analysis and oversight of PS&E production for state and local highways
  • Business Development
  • Lead and assist in the pursuit of transportation projects with agencies throughout Colorado and US West including proposal and presentation preparation
  • Engage Stantec Business Line Leaders, Regional Leaders, and individual Business Center leadership to develop internal relationships, collaboration, and work-share opportunities
  • Offer creative planning and pursuit solutions that support multi-disciplinary collaboration, client goals and objectives, and staff engagement

QUALIFICATIONS-

  • Outgoing, smart, and out of the box thinker to help maintain existing client relationships and strengthen existing partnerships with CDOT, City and County of Denver, and other local agencies
  • Strong experience with marketing, winning and managing small to transformative transportation projects within the region
  • Ability to mentor staff and develop team skills while successfully delivering projects
  • Experience in leading a team of highly skilled professionals and internal networking across a large entrepreneurial organization
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Experience in alternate project delivery methods including design-build a plus

Education and Experience-

  • Bachelor of Science or Masters of Science in Civil Engineering desirable (BSCE or MSCE)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license within the State of Colorado or the ability to obtain in 6 months. Additional licensure within western US desirable
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in transportation, roadway and/or transit design and Project Management in Colorado
